The Italian Golf Association (IGA) was formed in 1996 to promote and enhance the game of golf in the Italian community. Currently there are approximately 120 members, mostly of Italian backgrounds. The IGA organises games of golf at quality Golf courses around Sydney, involving between 40 and 60 players. A player handicapping system operates, giving all players an opportunity to share in prizes awarded from Á, ‘B, and ‘C grades at each games.

The IGA is a social and very friendly club, aiming to deliver enjoyment and value to all members, see them improve their Golf and knowledge of the game. Information is sent to all members via a monthly newsletter.

The IGA calendar also incorporates the Club Championship (a weekend event held in November), at least one major social function for players and their friends, and a competition weekend playing for the Interstate Cup, against the Victorian, Queensland and South Australia IGA’s. Every second year, a two week tour of Italian golf courses is organized in the month of September.

The club is strongly supported by the Commonwealth Bank and various sponsors of the monthly games. The results of each game are published in the La Fiamma Newspaper.
